Why should I have an eye pilow ready for my yoga class?

Eye pillows are such a gorgeous addition to any yoga practice. Whether it be savasana at the end of a  flow or used within a restorative practice. They help you to unwind the nervous system, dropping into your body with more ease and leaving your yoga practice more realxed.

Why are Yogipod eye pillows different?

Our eye pillows are a little different to a lot of others on the market.

• Designed to be beautiful as well as to soothe your nervous system, our eye pillows are handmade in my Oxfordshire studio from fabric hand block printed by a cluster of artisan workshops in Rajasthan.
• Our eye pillows are unscented. Scent is so personal so either use them unscented (it’s the weight that is magic) or add your favourite essential oil to personalise your rest
• Filled with organic linseed and nothing else

How do eye pillows work?

By placing the gentle weight of an eye pillow over the eye area it sends a signal to the vagus nerve via a reflex called the oculocardiac reflex. Stimulating, or toning, this nerve is often associated with helping us drop out of fight or flight and into our more relaxed state.

Of course eye pillows also block out the light and remove visual stimulations and distractions. This can have the effect of helping us to relax and quieten the mind.

– Cool hand wash. Turn inside out before washing. Please be aware fading may occur.

– Do not bleach.

– Do not tumble dry.

– Air dry in shade to prevent fading.
