What are the benefits of using a mini bolster in yoga?

Any prop helps you to find comfort and ease in a yoga posture and there is a huge benefit to that. A supported body usually translates to a calmer nervous system which in turn helps you to become more present and maybe even find more space in your body.

You can use a mini bolster in lots of different ways, from replacing a yoga block to getting comfy when laid in savasana. Some of my favourites are:

• Under your knees in a forward fold
• Laid down with a mini bolster running between your shoulder blades for a gentle chest stretch
• Supporting your bottom in pigeon
• Under your neck in savasana to encourage a chin tuck
