A yoga retreat, whether a day or a week, is a special thing. It’s a step away from the day to day activities we all have to do and brings a real focus on your own wellbeing, your yoga practice and connection with yourself and others.

It can be hard to know where to start when researching retreats and so I’ve once again pulled together my annual lists of all the people I would go on retreat with if time and money were no object!

Enjoy, and do let me know if you end up going on one!

Our Retreat yoga retreats

Our Retreat always have the most amazing list of retreats, both in the UK and Europe. Not just a straight retreat, they often combine yoga, pilates, hiking, meditation and breathwork.

Every retreat is slightly different but they all have the intentions of community, spirit and progress.

Unearthed by Tiwari yoga retreats

Angie is an incredible yoga teacher, who’s teachings are rooted in her heritage and culture so that you can respectfully apply the ancient rituals into your every day life and go deeper into your practice.

Her Empowered Yoga and Ayurveda retreat in Spain looks like the perfect step away from the day to day. Incorporating yoga asana, mantra, meditation and ayurveda all in the most gorgeous setting of olive groves and there are two pools.

Soul Sanctuary yoga retreats

Cat Meffan has been running retreats for years, always focusing on her playful approach to practice and a connection to the outdoors.

With locations varying from Cornwall and Devon to Portugal and Sri Lanka there really is something for everyone. The Sri Lanka retreat is definitely on my wishlist as it’s in the gorgeous setting of Hiriketiya and includes surfing as well as all the yoga

Zest Life yoga retreats

Zest Life have a total mix of retreats available both in the UK and abroad. Often incorporating hiking or swimming as well their aim is to give you the chance to step away from the demands of everyday life and immerse yourself in the vitality of the present moment.

The code YOGIPOD75 will give you £75 off a retreat booking with them.

Katie McNeil Yoga Retreats

My day retreat co-host, Katie is launching her first residential retreat and it will be so special. Katie is an incredible teacher and is pulling together a winter escape to Wales to tend to your inner light.

The plan is to take time to slow down, connect to the practice of yoga, connect to elemental nature, and to the community you are practising in. Sounds dreamy!

Yogipod 7 best yoga retreats for 2024 The Wild Times

The Wild Times is all about yoga and adventure, whether that be at home or away. They aim to help you re-wild, explore, become more grounded and restored.

This year they have Sicily, Morocco, Slovenia, Sweden and Greece planned as well as closer to home in Cornwall, the New Forest and the Lake District.

Annie Clarke yoga retreats

I may not be a mother but I am surrounded by them which is why I know Annie’s Nourished Mother retreats are so needed. A place for mother and baby to retreat together, this space is designed to be a sacred pause providing a deeply restorative retreat, designed to nourish both you and your baby.

Annie also runs retreats in France that aren’t focused on mothers but I really feel that her work supporting and nourishing motherhood is beautiful.

Something would be amiss if I didn’t include the day retreats I co-host with Katie here. Running in line with the equinoxes and solstices they are all about aligning ourselves with the rhythym of nature and granting ourselves the permission to just be.

We always include a element of creativity as well as getting outside either for a walk, a swim or some sauna. The food is beautifully nourishing too.

If there is a retreat you’ve been on that you would love to recommend to others please do share it in the comments and as I said at the beginning, if you end up going on one of these do let me know!
