taking some time

“There is more to life than increasing its speed” Gandhi

Make yourself a priority, slow down and practice some self love. This doesn’t mean being selfish and ignoring the world around you but instead embracing yourself and everything around you. Taking some time to slow and reflect and work out what you need. For me the culmination of making myself a priority is that I fly to India on Saturday, taking two entire months for me, my mind and my yoga practice, returning for I don’t know what but my speed will decrease and hopefully my life be so in balance I have the energy back that I want to give to everyone else.

Yoga is not all about the posture and the mat, it’s about having some guidelines for life, some codes to live by and so many of these through the Sutras, Yamas and Niyamas and teachings on the chakras are about listening to and investing in yourself.

I’ve run on autopilot for so long that I’m quite scared of actually taking this leap but I also know that it’s completely right. I need to do this before I can open myself up to whatever happens next. I’m not abandoning what has been my life and the people I love but just making me priority for a little while. I know I will be so much of a better person for doing it and I can’t wait to find out what I’ll discover along the way!
