what’s next?

A month after that final weekend and I am now a fully Yoga Alliance registered and qualified 200 hour yoga teacher!

I’m also unemployed, again, but this time through choice. Throughout the experience of my 200 hours training it was my personal transformation that I was most amazed by and I decided upon completion I couldn’t let that stop at the end of my training. So I’ve handed in my notice, finished work and as of the end of the August I’m travelling! Exploring and learning about myself while journeying through India, Malaysia, Australia, Bali and Cuba. It feels a little reckless and naughty but that mantra I signed up to around that new moon fire in Spain couldn’t be ignored.

Believe in yourself. You are enough. Jump into new challenges

I’m focusing my travels on my three loves, yoga, travel and creative and will share as much as possible here and on my social media. I am starting off in Rajasthan and Rishikesh in India including an ashram stay and would love to hear if anyone has any recommendations of things to see and do or places to shop or eat. I am a complete newbie to India so it’s with trepidation that I head off on that first part of my travels but also with a lot of excitement. From there I am popping into Kuala Lumpur for the Grand Prix to catch up with one of the other loves of my life so will have a few days in the city and will then be at the track for the others.

Then I head over to Australia, somewhere I’ve been promising to visit for years due to having friends out there but have never managed to. I’ve got a month here so am going to try and fit in as much as possible! If anyone has any recommendations for things I can’t miss that I might not realise please do let me know.  And then some much needed relaxation in Bali. I’m going to head to Ubud as jungles have always fascinated and book somewhere quite lux for a week to end this portion of my travels.

I’ll be well versed in my new ‘travel’ lifestyle by then so I figured I’d ‘pop’ back to the UK for a couple of weeks and then head off to Cuba for a week, mainly because it was so much cheaper to fly from the UK! I’ve always been fascinated by Cuba so can’t wait for this part of my trip for which my brother will be joining me. A fellow car nut it’s likely to be Instagram feeds full of fifties cars, palm trees and mojitos!

If I’m honest I’m nervous for what the next six months holds but also super excited. Upon my return I don’t know what the plan is, which is the first time I’ve ever been like that. I am a planner, I like a spreadsheet and I love a colour coded list and maybe while I’m away a list and spreadsheet for December will emerge but for the time being I am having no plan.

I can’t say for certain that my love affair with the fashion industry is over. I love the buzz you get from it, love working with beautiful fabrics and love working within creative teams but I needed a break from my situation before I really did fall out of love. So who knows a yogipod activewear line, interiors online store inspired by my travels and maybe one day a yogipod boutique come studio?

For now though I am happy teaching yoga when and where I can and really hope to have some public classes to teach when I come back. In the meantime if anyone wants to enquire about private lessons or collaborations please do contact me on the link above. I can’t wait to put into practice all I have learnt and help students in their own personal yoga world and continue to be inspired in my own practice
